Wisconsin breweries bring home 5 medals from World Beer Cup
Three Wisconsin breweries came home with awards from the World Beer Cup on May 1, beating more than 8,000 beers from nearly 50 countries.
Breweries from Belgium were in the competition, but that didn't stop New Glarus Brewing Co. from nearly sweeping the Belgian fruit beer category with Kriek earning first place and Camp Du Blanc getting second.
New Glarus also won a bronze medal for its Imperial Pilsner in the Other Strong Beer category.
Earth Rider Brewery in Superior received gold in the Oatmeal Stout category for its North Tower Stout beer.
Hinterland Brewery in Green Bay won bronze in the German-Style Altbier category for Hinterland Altbier.
