Torzala sisters build first Latina-owned Wisconsin brewery where heritage and community come together

The eagle and snake from Mexico’s flag appear beneath Milwaukee’s Hoan Bridge on the Torzala Brewery logo — a meeting of heritage and home that reflects what sisters Tricia and Renee have built in Bay View.

Founded in 2021 near South First and West Becher streets, Torzala is the first Latina women-owned brewery in Wisconsin, according to the sisters. They run it alongside their husbands, bringing their family and culture into a business in an industry where they say women are often overlooked.
