This Wisconsin brewery's pumpkin beer is among the best seasonal beers in the country, USA TODAY readers say
Pumpkin spice lovers listen up. One of Wisconsin's breweries has one of the best fall brews in the nation, according to a new ranking for USA TODAY's 10BEST.
Every week, USA TODAY 10BEST invites a panel of industry experts to nominate their favorite points of interest and attractions over a variety of categories. Editors will vet the nominations and select final nominees, which are then voted on by the public to determine the final list.
Great Dane's Pub & Brewing Co.'s Spiced Pumpkin Ale was No. 10 on the publication's list. Here's what USA TODAY had to say about the seasonal beer:
"Great Dane Pub & Brewing Co. uses 80 pounds of pumpkin to deliver their Spiced Pumpkin Ale, a pale amber pumpkin beer with a spicy and malty aroma. It's full of spices like nutmeg, cinnamon, allspice, ginger, and clove, and the beer is then 'dry spiced' at the end of fermentation, making it aromatic, spicy, and light, while still featuring a pumpkin flavor. A pint of this beer goes perfectly with those crisp autumn nights in Wisconsin, home to Great Dane and all their excellent brews."
