Miller Lite is celebrating its 50th anniversary with limited-edition gold cans and giveaways

Miller Lite is turning 50 and celebrating its golden anniversary with gold cans.

The limited-edition gold cans started appearing on shelves in early May. They're available in 12 packs of 16-ounce cans and 24-ounce single cans.

The 12-pack packaging and 24-ounce cans both have QR codes for Miller Lite drinkers to enter for a chance to win anniversary hats or $500. You can also enter online to win at millerlite.com/50.

The gold cans are available now through the end of July.

Miller Brewing Co. first opened in Milwaukee in 1855. More than 100 years later, in 1975, it released Miller Lite, which today is one of the top selling beers in the U.S.
