Piggly Wiggly officially has their own house craft beer brand with the help of 3 Sheeps Brewing. The beers started hitting stores over the past few weeks.

On the night of Aug. 9, the staff at the Mothership, 2301 S. Logan Ave., watched in horror as the bar's basement filled with water during the Milwaukee area’s 1,000-year flood.

Water rose to waist level within about 20 minutes, then continued to rise to the basement’s ceiling as the rain came down. Everything in the basement was lost: the walk-in cooler, HVAC, the electric panel, compressors, sound system, merchandise, juicers, kegs, the entire stock of inventory and more.

The bar is still rebuilding to its original state. So far, the damage has cost more than $160,000.

The Mothership, 2301 S. Logan Ave., will reopen Nov. 11 after three months of closure following August's historic flooding.

“This has been the biggest nightmare of my life,” Mothership’s owner, Ricky Ramirez, said.

There were times when he believed the bar would never reopen. But with the community’s help and the work of Mothership’s tireless staff, it’s set to welcome guests for the first time in three months.
