America’s Beverage Companies Deliver $324 Billion Annually for U.S. Economy
For nearly 150 years, America’s beverage companies have been an integral part of the nation’s fabric – woven into our hometowns, powering our economy and bringing people together. American Beverage released new economic impact data today underscoring this enduring economic impact, showing that the beverage industry:
- Generates $324 billion in direct economic impact.
- Operates more than 4,000 manufacturing, sales and distribution facilities.
- Contributes more than $70 billion in state and federal taxes.
- Supports more than 4.5 million jobs including 275,000 direct employees.
- Provides more than $30 billion in wages and benefits to hardworking American men and women.
- Contribute $2.8 billion to charitable causes nationwide.
